I’ve been playing with the latest code generation tools, in fact a disastrous session with Gemini CLI actually drove me to pay for and try and Claude Code.

Without doing a full review, suffice to say that it’s actually good enough to soften my stance on using AI to help write code. Honestly, it’s amazing – but I’m not worried about developer jobs disappearing any time soon.

The biggest downside is that it does sometimes feel like you’re micromanaging a junior who is about 6 pints deep.
